Medical grade peels

MediPeels are chemical peels that use specially formulated solutions to promote exfoliation and skin cell turnover. They can be tailored to different skin types and concerns. Outcomes vary, and your clinician will recommend the most appropriate peel after an assessment.

What are MediPeels?

MediPeels are medi-aesthetic face peels that involve applying a chemical solution to the skin to support exfoliation and encourage skin cell turnover.

How do they work?

Peels remove the outer layer of the epidermis (skin). The strength of the peel determines how many layers of skin are affected, as well as the level of downtime.

Who may consider this treatment?

MediPeels may be considered for people with a range of skin concerns, including pigmentation, acne, or uneven texture. Your suitability and the type of peel recommended will depend on your skin type, medical history, and treatment goals, and this is best assessed by a qualified clinician.

What does the treatment feel like?

Most people feel a warm or flushing sensation during the procedure. Superficial peels do not usually require anaesthetic. A session generally takes about 30 minutes.

What happens after treatment?

  • Temporary redness, swelling, or tightness may occur for 24–48 hours.

  • Flaking or peeling of the skin is expected for several days.

  • Using a hydrating moisturiser and daily sunscreen (SPF 50) is recommended to support recovery.

When will I notice changes?

Some people may see changes after the first treatment. However, results typically develop gradually and vary from person to person. Several sessions may be required for best outcomes.

How many sessions are usually needed?

The number of treatments depends on your skin type and concerns. Your clinician will recommend a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Risks and considerations

All chemical peels carry some risks, which may include redness, irritation, changes in pigmentation, or infection. These will be discussed with you before treatment, along with alternative options.
