Pre-Treatment

  • Avoid active skincare ingredients (retinol, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, benzoyl peroxide) for 3 – 5 days
  • Minimise sun exposure and avoid tanning for 1 – 2 weeks prior
  • Inform your clinician of any recent procedures, medications, or changes in your skin
  • Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, SPF, and heavy skincare products
  • If you have a history of cold sores, let your clinician know (antiviral prophylaxis may be recommended for perioral steps)

During Treatment

Most clients describe the sensation as a mild, tolerable warmth and light to moderate tingles on the treated area. No anaesthetic required. The procedure is usually well tolerated and non-invasive.

Aftercare

First 24-48 Hours:

  • Use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and a hydrating moisturiser or balm
  • Avoid active skincare (retinol, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C, exfoliants)
  • Avoid excessive heat, saunas, spas, and strenuous exercise
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and apply SPF 50+ daily
  • Avoid makeup for the first 24 hours if possible
  • Apply cool compress if needed (do not use ice directly on skin)

First Week:

  • Continue with gentle, non-active skincare
  • Do not scrub or exfoliate; allow any dryness/flaking to resolve naturally
  • Maintain hydration and daily sun protection
  • Follow any product recommendations from your clinician
